  • Caressa Todd

    FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Caressa Todd is the Founder and President of The Ryan Danielle Foundation, established in honor of her daughter, Ryan Danielle Booker. Drawing on her personal experience with infant loss and her professional background in counseling, Caressa leads the foundation's mission to educate, prepare, and empower families through infant CPR and choking prevention awareness, caregiver education, and community support.

Caressa holds bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology, with additional academic training in forensic psychology, and is continuing her studies in clinical psychology at Fielding Graduate University. Her work as a crisis and addictions counselor includes supporting individuals and families navigating mental health challenges, substance use, and urgent crises. These experiences inform her compassionate approach to education, advocacy, and connecting people with practical resources.

As an American Red Cross certified First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, Caressa brings emergency preparedness education to the foundation's work. She developed Ryan's Ready, a free community education program focused on infant CPR and choking prevention awareness for parents, grandparents, and caregivers. Her leadership also encompasses program development, volunteer coordination, community partnerships, fundraising, and the foundation's daily operations.

Caressa is the author of The Longest Elevator Ride: A Mother's Journey Through Loss, Love, and Legacy, sharing her experience of grief, motherhood, and creating purpose after loss. Through her writing and foundation leadership, she honors Ryan's life while helping families feel more informed, supported, and prepared.
